ESS needs to update the ear stems to eliminate having both Crossbow and Suppressor frames, similar to Oakley M Frame 3.0, Alpha or Smith Aegis. Skip to the beginning of the images gallery. Suppressors will obviously slide off my face so I always take them off right after my ear pro comes off. My only complaint is the fact my Crossbow stems rarely get used anymore as I can't wear them underneath my gel cup equipped Sordins long before I feel the discomfort. The Hi-Def Copper works similar to Oakley Prizm lenses, great for indoors and outdoor shooting. The ultra-thin Crossbow Tri-Tech Fit stems feature Z-Bend Geometry, which is optimized for comfort when worn under full ear cups. These days for work and shooting I wear Hi-Def Copper lens with Suppressor frame underneath my MSA Sordins or Howard Leights. The ESS Eye Pro Crossbow Suppressor Kit is an innovative frame and interchangeable lens system that accommodates use with full ear cup ear protection and comm link setups. The Marine Corps went with the Crossbows shortly after I got LASIK which was great, much cooler looking eyepro, very comfortable and stays on my face and no more RX insert to deal with. Before I got LASIK I had to deal with the RX inserts which made them look double gay, strained my eyesight after long hours of wear and scratched up the eyeshields bad where the plastic ends rubbed up on the eyeshields. They worked as eye pro but fit sucked, constantly slipped off my nose and I always thought they looked stupid. Wore ESS ICE for years as it was Marine Corps issued.
If you don't like that idea you can always buy a Crossbow frame ($9 on Amazon) and simply swap the frames out when you're not wearing ear pro.

No, I can't put my ICE eyeshields into a Cross series frame, but all the Cross stuff is use the strap, so I'm not dependent on the temples to hold the glasses on. One of the things I really like about the eyeshields from ESS is that they're completely modular.

They're comfortable and they do the job, but I'm going to upgrade to Suppressors or Crossbows. I don't know of any place locally I could go to try most of these on.I tried to find some locally, and couldn't. This fully compatible platform includes three products: basic level. Does that really make a difference or is it kinda out of the field of vision. Cross-Series is a revolutionary new system in the approach to ballistic eye protection. I've never shot with glasses that were "open concept" like the ESS ICE before, where the frame had no brow. Highly recommended!A buddy of mine said the same thing about those too actually. They don't stay on that great if you aren't wearing muffs, but I don't care as they are only used at the range. These are the most comfortable shooting glasses I've ever had.
